Virgin Atlantic launches flights to ‘live music capital’ with return fares from £409

New direct services to Austin, the Texas capital, have been confirmed by Virgin Atlantic – the airline’s first new route to the United States since 2015.

The four times a week service from Heathrow will operate on the airline’s 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft offering 31 Upper Class seats, 35 Premium seats and 192 Economy Delight, Classic and Light seats.

Return economy class fares from £409 pp at Premium fares start at £711 pp with Top Class from £1,711 pp.

Austin is known as the “live music capital of the world” and is famous for its arts and dining scene as well as a wide range of outdoor activities. To capitalize on increased leisure tourism in the region, Virgin Atlantic Holidays will launch a vacation program for Austin and throughout Texas, including hotels and driving vacations.

The city is also recognized as a growing technology hub with companies such as Apple, Tesla, Facebook, IBM and Oracle all opening bases, giving the city the nickname “Silicon Hills”.

Virgin Atlantic will also offer 20 tonnes of cargo capacity on each flight.
