Downtown music

Downtown has promoted Andrew Sparkler, a seven-year veteran of the company, to chief commercial officer, while former Songtrust general manager Brad Yuan has been elevated to chief operating officer and Loredana Cacciotti has moved on. from FUGA in Downtown to serve as Senior Vice President of Digital Licensing and Business Affairs.

Universal music group

Edgeout Records opened an office in “UMG’s Iconic East Iris Studios” in Nashville, with Senior Director of Digital Media and Content Jena Yannone relocating to oversee the day-to-day operations of the new division.


Vurbl has hired former Spotify boss Alex Underwood as chief revenue officer.

Warner Music Group

Warner Music Group has hired Andre Torres – also a former senior executive at Spotify – to serve as senior vice president of catalog development and marketing for its global recorded music catalog team.

RCA recordings

SME’s RCA Records elevated longtime team member Jamie Abzug to Senior Vice President and Head of Advertising.

Warner Music Finland

Ramona Forsström, a 13-year-old employee of Warner Music Finland, has been promoted to Managing Director.

PRS for music

Fabienne Leys, former director of Roc Nation and Def Jam, has been chosen to lead PRS “North American member and industry relations”.

Sony Music Editing

Sony Music Publishing has promoted Moses Martiny, former head of PRS for Music and EMI Music, to senior vice president of global digital business strategy.


Kobalt has appointed the former CEO of RCA and BMG, Jeannette Perez, President and COO.


Former Rock Mafia executive Corey Berkowitz has gone on to become Saban’s head of pop and urban A&R.


Apple’s Platoon, who teamed up with Sagun last week to launch a lo-fi label, has hired former Moment House (and Apple) boss Dionte Goodlett to head A&R.

New York University

Chicago-born singer-songwriter Jamila Woods is expected to join NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts – and specifically the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music – as Artist in Residence for the 2021 academic year- 2022.
