SEOUL — Saudi Princess Haifa bint Mohammed Al-Saud visited the office of South Korean entertainment powerhouse SM Entertainment to discuss various methods of cooperation in the field of culture, such as organizing concerts. She is vice-president of the Saudi Ministry of Tourism.

The meeting followed the request of the Saudi Ministry of Tourism in March 2022 when SM founder Lee Soo-man visited Riyadh, the capital and financial hub of Saudi Arabia, to help develop the music industry in the Middle Eastern country.

SM said in a statement on September 23 that the Saudi princess visited her office with other tourism officials and discussed the organization of “SM Town Live”, an SM concert featuring artists, events from video content and festivals.

In 2019, SM’s Super Junior became the first K-pop group to hold a solo concert in Saudi Arabia. The Middle Eastern country is currently trying to diversify its economy and develop its public services sector, including health, education and tourism, rather than relying on the oil sector through a state project called “Saudi Vision 2030”.
