Charles Towne Investment Management has raised capital to make a series of investments in the music industry.

The company’s strategy is to invest in the best financially-positioned artist management and talent agency companies seeking liquidity and growth capital. They take minority stakes without control, allowing the property to retain its independence.

They plan to be a capital partner for additional growth or cash, strategic acquisitions, and special projects or ventures.

The effort at CTIM is led by Bill Stapletonlong-time agent Lance Armstrong and co-founder of the Austin City Limits Music Festival and Lollapalooza Chicago, and John McAvoy, former Chairman of Asset Management Finance, a subsidiary of Credit Suisse, and former Managing Director of Credit Suisse. They are joined by Andy BrusmanCEO of Charles Towne Holdings, an investment banker with a long history specializing in sports, media and entertainment.

This small group of investors will take on informal advisory roles where appropriate and has a plethora of experience in strategic sectors such as music, television, live events, entertainment, media, sports marketing, sports management and finance.
